Third change to Team CoolCava Racing for 2014 season

The 2014 Porsche Sports Cup racing season is fast approaching and here at Team CoolCava Racing we are hard at work getting ready. One large change that has impacted us since the success from the 2013 season is a change in drivers, with both Timo and Toni changing their plans.

prcf jukka fiskariWe are pleased to be able to announce that CoolCava Racing has got a new driver joining the team from the start of the 2014 season. Jukka Fiskari is joining the team as a driver and whilst this is his first year officially with Team CoolCava Racing, he is no stranger to us all here or to the Porsche Sports Cup.

Jukka joined the Porsche Sports Cup at the start of the 2013 season where he entered in Team CoolCava Racing Timo Virkki’s old Porsche 996 racing car – the one he replaced the Porsche 996 GT3 Cup car with at the start of the 2013 season.

Join us in welcoming Jukka to the team, and to a successful season for all our drivers and the team in the 2014 Porsche Sports Cup season…

Second change to Team CoolCava Racing for 2014 season

And then it was time again to share another change to impact Team CoolCava Racing at the start of 2014. We do understand that things will always change and some times the change is bad or good, and we need to appreciate the individuals and support them in what they decide to do.

We have said our sad good luck to Toni Niemelä who has decided to split from the team, and now we turn to team driver Timo Virkki who is also set to make some changes.

TimoTimo has had an outstanding run with Team CoolCava Racing taking overall podium results in the Porsche Sports Cup in both 2012 and 2013 seasons. During the 2013 season he rocketed to overall 2nd place with his Porsche 996 GT3 Cup, and that was with starting half-way threw the season!

After a lot of reflection and thinking over the winter, Timo has decided to take some time-out from racing and focus on other projects. He has sold his lovely Porsche GT3 Cup, and has replaced it with a lovely street registered Porsche.

But we have good news, Timo will remain with us here at Team CoolCava Racing and has taken up the position as our Team Administrator…

First change to Team CoolCava Racing for 2014 season

The last two seasons have been a steady state in many ways for us here at Team CoolCava Racing. We have worked hard and put in the effort and got rewarded for it at the end. A team victory in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons is an outstanding achievement, with Toni Niemelä taking 1st place overall in 2012 followed by Pål Krogdahl in 2013. We had a strong three man driver team who repeatedly took podium positions in the Porsche Sports Cup here in Finland.

But change is always something we should be expecting and change is what is coming for the 2014 season here at Team CoolCava Racing…

The first news regarding the team for the 2014 season, is the decision by Toni Niemelä to  move onto new adventures outside of Team CoolCava Racing.

Toni has been one of the leading drivers for team CoolCava Racing with repeated success in both the Porsche Sports Cup and the Porsche GT3 Cup Trophy here in Finland, and his departure from the team is a heavy blow.

We have told Toni that the door is always open and he is welcome back if he should ever change his mind, but for now he is seeking new adventures and will probably line up in the 2014 season on the grid line next to us but not as a team mate.

All here at Team CoolCava Racing wish him the best of luck in his new adventures and will always have a warm seat at the table for him if he should decide to return.

Stay tuned for additional changes for the 2014 season…
